Steve Jobs – Apple :(

October 7th, 2011

Life brings tears, smiles and memories.
The tears dry, the smile fades, but the memories live on forever.

With deepest sympathy to Steve’s family and friends.

Farewell Steve…

“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me …
Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful…
that’s what matters to me.”

MUST READ! Funny As Hell About Clients

August 5th, 2011

This is an comic my friend ran into when he was thinking about some of stories I told him about my web designer experience.  How clients come to you for your line of work and then turn around with crap designs in their head.  As if they are web designers and its so easy but they come to you.

This link to this comic is so true.  That’s why as web designers etc.. you need to make sure your terms and conditions are solid.  If someone comes to your company it should be done by your rules.  Like any company if you can’t obey rules and work together cancel the service for that out of control client.  Most of these people are more about arguing instead of letting you do your job.  This means they are not serious.  Or you get the impatient clients thinking they are going to make millions and their ideals doesn’t require time and work.  Also, you got the ones that think you should do more and more without you getting paid for extra.

You als0 have the ones that refer shitty new clients when they know they are hard to work with.  Causing more problems for you with cheap customers that want a Facebook like website that requires a shit load of work.  They have the nerve to ask for a Auto Trader like site to be built for less than 2000.00 which we know its not just a one time design its constant work.  Never sign contracts that will tie you too cheap people that don’t have the money to even advertise after they get a major site like that built.  Web designers and web developers have to be careful out there more than the client thinking they are going to get ripped off.

You even have baddies online from classified sites that target web companies with out of control request.  Have your client sign or sign up for a service that requires agreement to your rules.   And clients out there have the nerve to be mad about crappy Craigslist web designers when they run off the ones that are honest and will take care of them.  This is so funny, because there will only be half ass web designers left online to do great work.  Once again, I say if you are cheap and want the world you shouldn’t be online period.   Go get a Go Daddy overnight and crap like that.  You will soon see know easy our work is, lmao.  It’s not easy or you wouldn’t need a web dude.  Web Design is serious, if you are a serious business.  And that’s far and in between with companies these days.

My favorite part is when you build a client something they think it comes with a business consultant too.  Consultants themselves start off at $75 to $200 bucks an hour.  It’s your fault as a designer that they didn’t get their lazy ass up and represent.  You are a designer not their companies CEO.  Unless you offer consultant services.  People these days are bad or just plain ignorant about how things work online.

Web Designers out there!  Stick to your guns make them obey your rules it’s your company not theirs.  If they don’t like it and have paranoia issues that is their problem not yours.   If you are an honest web designer you need to be tough and take not shit.  Get the job done and move on.  If the client needs more QUOTE them don’t sit there all day playing more repor for 2 days straight.  Build repor and get them to handle their end like content etc…   If you leave a door open for them to eat you, they will.  Willing or unknowing.

Plain and simple, if a client is serious there will be no BS other than getting to business.  If you start project you should do half of the cost on the beginning and its non-refundable because they are already using your time.  If they decide to stop you got paid for them wasting your companies precious time.  Time is money.   State these things in your terms so there is no surprise.  This will stop most of the ignorant time wasters and non serious clients from coming to you.

Not all business is worth it!

Note: Also, ask the client where did they find you.  If it’s some place like Craigslist that has a bad rep. Be more stern with them on wasting time and give them a day to make their decision.  If they do not start, keep advertising and move on.  Don’t call them over and over again.  Twice is enough to see if they are serious.  One follow up call after main call is enough.

Facebook Blocking Friend Requests

May 7th, 2011

Looks like Facebook is pwning people lately.   They are trying to stop people from networking and marketing.  Businesses and marketing has become a pain in the ass now.  People are protesting facebook.  This is the time for someone to start up a new site with Apps etc…  When places like Craigslist and Facebook do this all they are doing is sealing their doom.

They want you to pay for their Ads placement, and other promotional tools to make more money.  By blocking friend request banning you to 4 days etc…  it’s a sign of greed.  They have the audience but when you are a business with little money you can’t afford their Google Adwords based system for their site.  You depend on the ability to be able to request a friend to see your fan page etc..

I think it is a bad move on their part.  A great move for new developers to create something new that will offer the audience and connection.   Craigslist and other places are about to hit rock bottom I say in about a few years they both will no longer exist.  It’s like myspace no one really uses it anymore.   Dramatic changes equals search for a new venue.

Only way around this is to spam your follow us link all over the internet.  Most people won’t do this it require a crap load of time and you are not aassured that people will truly add you.  One more kick in the face by the big dogs when they have become big dog.

CONTROL. This is one of the reason when I code FaceBook into any of our sites it has a option to turn it off just in case shit hits the fan.

Domain Registration *BECAREFUL*

May 4th, 2011

This is information to help people that have unique domain names or ideals for a domain name.  There are several websites out there that give you an option to search to see if the domain name you want is available.

DO NOT search for that domain name till you are ready to purchase it.

You have to remember that those companies like GoDaddy, NameCheap etc… gets crawled by google and other search engines also.  There is a way to find out what new domain names have been searched for purchase.  Some of these companies will purchase right from under you if they see that it’s been search on for availability.

So, when you search for your domain name that you want make sure right then and there you are going to purchase it if it’s available.

Just a tip on how and why so many domain names are being taken.  It’s way for losers online to hope they can sell it at a much higher pricing than it was in the first place.  Remember, that are lazy and want a quick buck will do this.  Legally, if the domain name is tied of close enough to your copyright/trademark of your company you can sue them or request them to bow down and give ownership to you.

Packaging Hearst Castle an easier task with online presence

Tourism is the dominant player in the California economic landscape with over a billion dollars generated annually. In the vanguard of the marketing efforts are Jim Allen, Director of Marketing for Hearst Castle and Alex LaChapelle, Communications & Tourism Marketing Director.

Jim Allen represents the largest single tourism attraction in California, and yet one of his first remarks was “Hearst Castle sees itself as a partner with the local business community” and he referred to the “Tourism Product” several times. Alex LaChapelle brought this up again when asked her “Why do people visit the central coast?” Her reply was, “It’s the whole package, the resorts, beaches and attractions. So, online we go as Castle Photo’s, video’s compliment our marketing exposure .”

Tourism exists in a business ecosystem where the activity of one creates benefit to others and this drives the creation of groups that can cross-promote. The economics of marketing are such that a business not involved in these industry or community groups needs to examine that choice carefully. Not being involved, whether online via a link removes cooperative advertisement and promotion that few businesses can afford to do alone and in print.

Visitors to Hearst Castle need places to stay, eat, and play or they will not visit. So why are actual joint ventures in tourism so rare? The answer is, of course, that partnering with other businesses is tough work. Numerous city Chambers of Commerce distribute a beautiful tourism packet filled with ads from members, and Castle Country is a paper that also brings an advertisement vehicle into play. The closest city of San Luis Obispo spends advertising dollars by the bucket to promote the area in general and untold other groups, large and small, have this issue on their agenda. Tourism products today are like a child’s bike at Christmas , “Some assembly required.” It is left to visitors to assemble their trip, and every step in the decision process reduces the results.

Several years ago, IBM presented a sales award that included an all-expenses-paid trip to San Francisco for 100 couples. The itinerary included visiting the redwoods in Marin, a bay cruise, Fisherman’s Wharf, shopping in Sausalito, and many other activities; truly something for everyone. IBM knows how to do first-class, so they included perks like private concerts hosted by Dick Clark and other surprises. This tourism product includes large groups from planes to limos to buses to boats, from hotels to meals to concerts and shopping, all as one integrated package. Carefully engineered by IBM, it was a memorable experience and a complete tourism product.

The online experience www.hearstcastle.org provides customers with good planning ideas and a willingness to pay for it. Their objective is to enjoy the vacation, not plan it.

Don’t Be Stupid America! Bin Laden

May 2nd, 2011

First of all, the history of America doesn’t have me believe the media telling the truth as usual.

We have a lot of stupid Americans that will believe anything.  The pres. says that he is killed right?  I don’t think so.  Why does it matter anyways.  If there is one there will be another.  Times right now are hard and what is the best thing to do.  Throw a bone at Americans in hard times about something that really doesn’t matter.  Bin Laden so what.  What about our property value, raising prices on gas and food.

Even if he is dead the talle ban is still running around one to take his place.  It’s really funny that they buried his body at sea based on his culture or religion.  No proof to be seen.  I just don’t believe anything that I am told.  Proof!

I think we are about to get some more kick in the ass by our country.  Very weird that we get this news and we have so many Americans that are so uneducated to look seriously at the weirdness of this.

Get prepared for some more future bad shit to happen.  Media hyping it up as usual.  Demand proof of this!  People don’t get it – military is so covert that the regular population never really knows the truth if it’s being told.

I heard people celebrating outside and at the white house about this.  Stupidity.  Now, if the pres. would of brought Bin Ladens ass here and opened up the casket then maybe Ill believe this wasn’t a push to calm people down in this country about our issues here.  Even if they did bring the body here what’s the truth?  There are so many duplicates of people that look alike how do we know.

Second, one drops then here comes the other to take Bin Ladens place.  America has a history of lies and game play.  I love my country but it still ran on the fact that it’s been obtained on lies.  Just because our pres. is black doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the liars too.  As for being apart of the military I know for a fact you never question the head of the class.  You just believe and do what your told.

Note: Like I said, so what about his death good.  Let’s stay on track, people!  I personally don’t give a fuck about Bin Laden death I give a fuck about the deaths of our people here soon.  All the homeless, and the plan for the rich and poor.  Middle class is basically gone and people are partying like Bin Laden death is something special.  I’d like to see the death of the assholes that are fucking up our way of living and about to throw us into the poor house majorly.

FACT THE PROOF BEEN REMOVED ALL WE HAVE IS OUR GOVERNMENTS WORD.  I USUALLY DON’T THINK CONSPIRACY – BUT WOW GREAT PROOF!!!!   GIVE HIM SOME MORE PROPS AND GIVE HIM HIS BURIAL THAT RESPECTS HIS WAYS MORE.  BURIED AT SEA – BULLSHIT!  IT’S CALLED NO PROOF NOW.  AND WHO GIVES A SHIT EXCEPT THE ONES THAT ARE UNEDUCATED TO NOT THINK AND LOOK AT SHIT CLOSELY.

If someone killed my family member, or soldier I’d like to see a bullet hole in his head that did it.  We will never know the truth other than believe a system that is on a decline.  We are about to suffer more.  Seriously!

Have You Blogged Today?

May 2nd, 2011

Speak to the world with weblogs and increase your websites visibility. If words such as “weblog,” “blogger,” “blog” and “blogrolling” are of only a passing interest to you, pay attention. Blogging has been around for many years, rapidly gathering devotees. A blog, is a Web site, or portion thereof, usually run by individuals with regular updates on any particular subject. The frequency of additional postings, often several times a day, which appear chronologically, give the site the casual “log” format. The postings can be anything from unstructured ramblings, to product reviews and technical help.
As a company that delivers our customers an edge over the competition, Omatic-Minds.com has a keen understanding and appreciation for blogs as a powerful SEO tool to optimize websites. Omatic-Minds.com understands SEO and the nature of how the unique algorithms work among the various search engines. Our team develops proprietary WordPress blogger SEO plugin’s that work as a resource on autopilot to market your company providing your site high ranking in Google, Yahoo, Bing, et al.
A key feature of blogs is the host of links that accompany each post, forming a vast community. If you’re interested in a specific topic, you will inevitably end up moving from blog to blog. Omatic-minds.com takes advantage of these blogging variables as a megaphone for optimizing your site.
According to Lee Odden Research, “87.4% of respondents said they “successfully increased measurable SEO objectives as a direct result of blogging; and another 90% cited blogging as either important, significantly important or a primary SEO tactic.”
Why Blog?
“I don’t think there’s anything bigger. Nothing is more natural to the way the Web actually works,” argues Derek Williams, CEO of oMatic-Minds.com. Blogs are a social networking communication tool ideally suited to the medium of the Web. In no other publishing format can people and companies publish their minute-by-minute happenings in such an open forum.
“Blogs are what Web pages should have been in the first place,” Williams said. “Blogs make it very easy for someone to say whatever they want to the world in a way they can control.”
Although the nature of blogs is very individualistic, they also perform a crucial function for companies. Williams likens the influence of blogs inside companies to “people hanging around the coffee machine…What blogs do inside a company is give people an opportunity to exert their authority by solving problems, giving workarounds, and sending quick messages asking and answering questions.”
Williams also believes that it is beneficial to a company to allow its individual workers a voice.
“It’s good for people in the company to have an opportunity to express their authority…and it is interesting to people in the company to read what other people are up to,” he said. “A blog can help keep everyone in the loop, promote cohesiveness and group culture, and provide an informal “voice” of a project or department to outsiders.”
Marketing presence
Aside from the more populist aspects of blogs, they are becoming more recognized for their practical appeal and value. Blogs are no longer the domain of individual authors. Individuals and enterprises, large and small, have come to realize the use of blogs as vital support for their overall public relations and marketing efforts.
Omatic-Minds.com values a blog as a vital component to your marketing success. We know people read them because we track those stats. Our customers continually have their blogs picked up by syndicators and other online reporting entities. They are a vital part of your online presence and SEO ranking.
Customer Support
(oMatic-Minds.com clearly envisions companies embracing blogs as a necessity in the future.
“Trends have shown Customer support in general has been increasingly offloaded to the blogs of individual authorities that just like to solve problems,” Williams said. “You are seeing it in anything you name, anything people want to talk about. People increasingly want to link to these places. Instead of FAQs, which are always annoying because they are never adequate, we’ll see ‘frequently linked authorities,’ or ‘frequently visited mavens.’”
Blogs in themselves can be a moneymaking venture, however, oMatic-Minds.com has a history of providing companies the natural organic PR and marketing potential of their blogs. If you or your company do not already have one, why wait? Let oMatic-Minds.com help you to begin posting to your “Dear diary…” and see what kind of conversations you can begin worldwide.
