Hardest Job Online – Web Companies

Why is having a web company the hardest job online?

Because everyone thinks they know everything about the net.  Everyone is a Bill Gates online you can’t tell them anything.  The worse thing you can do to yourself is make yourself think you know all the answers.  There is a difference between web understanding and people that know web solutions.

Anyone can know something about the web.  Can you find a solution to any web problem?  A real knower of the web and solutions are the people that say I don’t know it all but I can find a solution.  This requires a person to upgrade their database of knowledge to become a Guru not just some asscorn that thinks he knows everything because someone told him a secret that several other already know.

This is probably one of the biggest reasons this type of job is a hard one.  I get clients that know this person and that person etc.. etc.. etc…  They come and think they know more than you and never have dealt or met you in their life.  You have some people that are just stubborn and won’t listen.  Do not give them a little understanding about anything they will run with it and try to make themselves look like they know all the answers.

One of the biggest areas that I personally get this ignorance from clients is in the SEO area.  New clients that come to me and act like they understand how SEO/SEM, marketing works.  I just listen and go ok.  Once they give me the link of their website.  I then research their site.  First thing I see is that they are cheap or have no clue to even at least drop their ranking down.  There are two reason why based on what type of company they have.

For example:  If you have a website that sales clothing you should have a great online ranking if you weren’t cheap and put some money into advertising to brand your company.  Dealerships are really bad at this.  Auto dealerships could make a killing in sells if they weren’t so thick headed.  They get their sites built with companies that do not build the sites with SEO period not even with RSS feeds.  Or they get someone that does add these things and have the nerve to say there is none there.  It’s funny to me after ten years of this type of work that the hardest thing to sell is SEO one of the biggest things to do for your website online (and people think they know how it works when it changes constantly).  They will let me design a site but think advertising is the same as going door to door selling Kirby vacuums.

Also, clients think results are needed to be made in 3 months or right away, lmao.  Google do not care about you or your site unless you coughing up coin.  First page of Google is funny because if you were truly on the first page of Google you would have millions if not billions hitting your site.  First page of constantly used keywords COST MONEY!  The question should be how long will you stay at the top of the listing of a highly used keyword?  This is where your site comes in handy if properly paid for SEO work. There is no such thing as first page of Google.  This is how ignorant (know it all) people get taken for a ride by most companies.  Plain and Simple, unless you know, or own a TV channel.  Or have a TV commercial.  Or got the hook up on rich inside connects to drive friends from university’s etc.. to your site you have to pay like the rest of us to get there.  You better make sure your site or what you are selling is awesome the first time the flood of visitors come pouring in.

People crack me up. No one wants to listen unless you become rich, a star, or the owner of a Facebook like site.  By then, they will want to get your help.  The price changes when you become Name Branded as a Genius by a larger number of so called valid people.

I can totally understand why the top separate themselves from the so called Title Grabbers when they don’t have a clue.

I get called a Genius all the time.  I never let it go to my head but I know a lot but it’s not enough in my eyes.  I leave that stuff alone so I can keep rising to a new level of knowledge and I research, and dig for more.

 
Conclusion: The hardest thing in my line of work is dealing with slackers, know it alls, and people that do not want to put into their business.  I can’t even tell you know much I drop yearly into my work  to brand my sites.  If you are persistent enough you might just get to the point to not needing to advertise again.  Once you have done that you know you got pockets that will be deep .

Footer Note: Everyone always trying to find a way to go around something instead of doing the work.  If was so easy everyone would be doing it.  And if everyone is doing it – is it something of value if it is so done widely?  This is how Google and other companies are making a killing from web companies that do not tell the truth just so they can get a little kibble in their pocket which puts more kibble in big companies pockets (if the company even does the SEO for their clients).  The price for SEO work should be high if is going to be effective.  This is why people need to go to companies like ours so they get to where they need to be.  Instead of trusting companies that do not go above and beyond to teach what they are selling.  Doesn’t mean you have to give up your major secrets but at least show statistics and give true expectations.  Web Design can be affordable but advertising period should be the most costly if you want to be successful (patience if you start off at a low amount).
